The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G from the Cezanne processor family features eight CPU cores based on the "Zen 3" architecture . Following "Zen," "Zen+," and "Zen 2," this is the fourth generation of the Zen microarchitecture. Compared to the previous generation, each processor core now has access to the entire L3 cache, resulting in significantly improved gaming performance. Furthermore, the Ryzen 5000 processors offer significantly increased per-clock performance and a higher boost clock. The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G supports the PCI Express 3.0 standard. All Ryzen 5000 processors utilize the proven AM4 platform and are designed for use with compatible AMD chipsets. A BIOS update to AGESA 1.0.8.0 or later is required.
The silicon of the CPU cores is lithographed using the advanced 7nm FinFET manufacturing process with stacked transistors (also called 3D transistors) using Extreme Ultraviolet (EUV) technology. The space gained on the processor die through the significantly reduced feature sizes allows for the integration of a total of 4 MB of Level 2 cache and a substantial 16 MB of Level 3 cache , which is particularly important for games.
The I/O chiplet in the CPU package, responsible for data lines, is manufactured using a 12-nanometer FinFET process and provides 24 PCIe lanes. Four lanes are reserved for the connection to the motherboard chipset and four for connecting NVMe SSDs. This leaves 16 lanes for communication with graphics cards, while additional PCIe lanes are provided for further storage devices, expansion cards, and peripherals, depending on the motherboard chipset.
The AM4 platform also features external device connections such as USB 3.1 with Type-A and/or Type-C connectors and high data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbit/s. The CPU's integrated memory controller supports fast and energy-efficient DDR4 RAM in dual-channel mode without ECC error correction at a native clock speed of 3,200 MHz, with significantly higher clock speeds possible through overclocking.
The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G at a glance:

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G 8-core CPU with 4.6 GHz Precision Boost 2

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G features eight physical CPU cores , each capable of processing two threads simultaneously thanks to Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). This effectively doubles the number of processing cores to 16, thanks to the additional eight virtual cores. The octa-core processor operates at a high base clock of 3.8 GHz per core, which, via Precision Boost 2, precisely adapts in real time to the specific application scenario and, within the limits of its 65-watt Thermal Design Power (TDP), can be boosted to up to 4.6 GHz .
PCI-Express 3.0 with AMD X570 or B550 chipset

The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G supports the PCI Express standard version 3.0. PCIe 3.0 is backward compatible and allows the use of expansion cards from all previous generations.
AMD Vega - Highly efficient graphics chips for the desktop
What makes the "Cezanne" series APUs special is the integrated Radeon graphics unit based on the Vega architecture. This combines the "Zen 3" architecture CPUs and the Vega architecture graphics chips into an efficient and powerful APU. The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G APU is equipped with the Vega 8 GPU. In this configuration, the graphics chip has eight compute units with a total of 512 shaders. The GPU base clock is 2,000 MHz.
Automatic overclocking via Precision Boost Overdrive

Overclocking is no longer something anyone needs to worry about with AMD Zen 3, as the CPU takes care of it automatically: The AMD Ryzen 7 5700G is equipped with the Auto-OC feature Precision Boost Overdrive , which can increase the processor clock speed beyond the factory-set limit of the maximum boost clock speed, provided that sufficient CPU cooling is ensured.
Unlocked CPU: Manual overclocking thanks to an unlocked multiplier
Furthermore, all AMD Ryzen CPUs are "unlocked" and, as with the "Black Editions" and "K" variants of previous model series, have an unlocked multiplier , allowing overclockers to easily increase the high clock speeds directly by hand in the BIOS or UEFI or using software tools (e.g. AMD Ryzen Master), provided a suitable motherboard with an OC-capable chipset and sufficient additional cooling is used.
