The AMD Ryzen 5 8600G features six physical CPU cores , each capable of processing two threads simultaneously thanks to Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). With the addition of six virtual cores, the number of processing cores effectively doubles to 12. This 6-core mid-range model utilizes Precision Boost 2 to precisely adapt to the specific application scenario and, within its 65-watt Thermal Design Power (TDP), can reach turbo boost speeds of up to 5.0 GHz .

Supports PCI-Express 4.0 and DDR5 RAM

The AMD Ryzen 5 8600G supports the PCI Express 4.0 standard. PCIe 4.0 is backward compatible and can be used with all expansion cards of previous generations. High-end motherboards with AMD X670(E) or B650(E) chipsets typically have additional voltage regulator modules (VRMs), allowing Ryzen 7000 and 8000 processors to communicate with the chipset to access the motherboard's unused power reserves and automatically increase their clock speeds depending on CPU temperatures.
